In recognition of its various research, academic and public outreach programmes, the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Govt of India has accorded the honor of a scientific and industrial research organisation to M P Birla Institute of Fundamental Research continuously starting from 1999. This has facilitated academic and research collaboration between the institute and various educational organisations in the country.
